Role overview
We are looking for a versatile data engineer to build and maintain the data pipelines that power our cloud and AI solutions. You will work with large-scale datasets to ensure they are processed, enriched, and made available for downstream applications.Your focus will be on reliability, scalability, and performance in a cloud-native environment.
As a Senior Data Engineer at Qodea, you’ll:
- Build and monitor batch and real-time data pipelines to ingest and process product and consumer data.
- Implement data transformations for deduplication, entity resolution, and feature engineering.
- Optimise pipeline performance and ensure high availability in GCP environments.
- Maintain metadata layers and embeddings for use in ML and personalisation services.
- Ensure data quality through rigorous validation rules and automated monitoring.
- Work closely with ML engineers to provide high-quality data for model training.
Things that will make you stand out:
- Strong experience with Python, Java, or Scala for data processing tasks.
- Skilled in using BigQuery, SQL, and dbt to manage large datasets.
- Comfortable working with a variety of data structures and formats.
- A meticulous approach to data lifecycle management and schema design.
- Experience with streaming technologies such as Pub/Sub or Kafka.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and model deployment.
- Experience in industries like fintech or e-commerce.
