The Project Manager oversees the full lifecycle of data collection projects. This includes managing and delivering all projects in alignment with agreed quality standards, client specifications, timelines, and budget requirements. While focusing on the operational execution of data initiatives, the Project Manager develops collection plans and schedules, coordinates data acquisition processes, ensures data quality and compliance, manages profit margins, contracts with and oversees independent contractors or data vendors, and maintains clear communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Requisitos: Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
Effectively manage data collection projects within established timelines and budget constraints.
Oversee the full lifecycle of data collection initiatives, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery in alignment with client specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate data acquisition activities, including field operations, digital data gathering, surveys, annotations, or structured data sourcing efforts.
Prepare project estimates, define scope, assign resources, and manage issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
Produce reports, dashboards, correspondence, and documentation that meet business objectives while demonstrating professional competency, quality, and thoroughness.
Identify opportunities to improve data quality, operational efficiency, and delivery workflows within timeline and budget constraints.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration between clients, vendors, and internal project team members.
Analyze datasets and project files in preparation for estimates and project planning.
Prepare, structure, and validate data files to ensure smooth workflows using internal systems, data platforms, or collection tools.
Develop detailed project plans, including collection methodologies, timelines, quality control checkpoints, and resource allocation.
Create proposals and cost estimates, ranging from standard engagements to complex, large-scale data collection initiatives (often in collaboration with Sales). For large projects, calculate projected profit margins and potential pricing adjustments.
Coordinate the efforts of data collectors, field teams, annotators, QA specialists, analysts, or third-party vendors using company-supported tools and process systems.
Communicate with vendors and partners across multiple industries (including enterprise, technology, research, or public sector clients) to ensure deadlines and quality requirements are met.
Understand operational, technical, and compliance considerations required to deliver accurate, timely, and cost-effective data solutions.
Ensure all quality assurance procedures, validation standards, and client-specific data requirements are followed.
Review and validate final datasets prior to client delivery.
Negotiate base rates and project-specific rates with vendors to ensure margin targets are achieved.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Data Management, IT, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, preferably within data collection, research operations, AI training data, field operations, or related industries.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Full professional fluency in English (French is a plus, if applicable).
Strong attention to detail, high level of organization, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to analyze data to identify trends, inconsistencies, risks, or operational bottlenecks.
Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Experience preparing analytical and operational reports.
Experience developing detailed project plans and managing budgets.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel (data analysis, tracking, reporting) and Word.
Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort working in deadline-driven environments with flexibility in work hours when required.
